Inspired by my work testing IVAS and SIVT at Microsoft, this project reimagines AR eyewear as an intuitive, AI-enhanced digital companion—a wearable interface that understands context, remembers your preferences, and augments your world effortlessly. Unlike traditional AR glasses that only serve as information overlays, these smart frames integrate AI-driven memory, contextual intelligence, and real-time augmented interactions, allowing users to navigate their digital and physical worlds with unparalleled ease.

AI-Enhanced Smart Companion for Personalized Assistance:

Powered by AI, these glasses continuously learn from your routines, preferences, and past interactions to provide intelligent, context-aware support.
Adaptive AI can anticipate needs, such as reminding you of a conversation, adjusting your AR environment, or suggesting relevant information in real time.

Memory-Augmented Reality: Your Life, Enhanced:

The AI captures, organizes, and recalls key moments from your day, allowing users to retrieve past conversations, places visited, and actions taken through a spatial memory interface.
Example: Need to recall a discussion from a meeting? Simply ask your glasses, and AI will surface key insights, automatically summarizing them in your field of view.

Precision eye tracking & gesture recognition allow for seamless, natural control—no controllers or touchscreens needed.

With companies like Meta, Apple, and Looktech AI pushing the boundaries of AI-integrated eyewear, this prototype envisions a future where AR isn’t just about seeing information—it’s about having an AI-powered companion that enhances, remembers, and understands your world.

Initial Chassis Brainstorming

User-Centric Design:
- Style: How can I make the headsets customizable, fashionable.
- Comfort: What materials and designs would make them lightweight and wearable all day?
- Software Functionality: What features would make them indispensable? (e.g., productivity tools, accessibility features, social connectivity).
Prototype & Collaboration:
- I started small with a few patent inspired illustrations, then they evolved into 3D sketches. I used AI for almost all of this. I find it to be the fastest way to fail faster.
- Next, I used a 3D modeling platform to take my images and turn them into models.
- Early User Testing: I will test out the models during Metaverse Fashion Week in Decentraland 2025.

A few things cross my mind. What if someone likes the beach and wants to wear these like premium sunglasses. How will the sensors and cameras handle the sun?

The frame needs to be lightweight to wear all day comfortably.

Further Exploration:
- Explored existing AR tech (like HoloLens, IVAS, Viture and Nreal) to see what works and what doesn’t.
- Researched miniaturization and battery tech to make the device both sleek and long-lasting for a whole day.
- Investigated AI tools to make the AR experience smarter and more intuitive.
Empowerment as a Core Value:
- Focused on how the headset can help users achieve their full potential:
  - Accessibility for people with disabilities.
  - Enhanced learning tools.
  - Creative tools for artists and designers.

USE CASES

Social Augmentation:

The ability to “see” reminders about friends as we encounter. Things like asking how their kids are doing, or a recent trip, new job, etc. Also facial recognition for remembering peoples names as well as prompts for things to say when unsure in a situation.

Seamless Connectivity:

Imagine the headset being like an extension of your brain, always showing you relevant info—directions appearing as you walk, instant translations of languages, or reminders tied to real-world objects (e.g., “Buy milk” pops up when passing the grocery store).

Assisting Creativity:

A tool where people can sketch, paint, or design in 3D space using their hands—turning everyday life into a canvas.

Hyper-Accessibility:

The option for advanced accessibility tools. Like reading text for the visually impaired, translating sign language into spoken words, or alerting people to obstacles in their environment.

As I was generating these designs, I began leaning really hard into the cyberpunk, synthwave aesthetic. In my opinion these are so fun! From the colors to the form factor its helping me dive into what the ideal is, then work backwords from there.
